$1.9 Million recovery for a 28-year old Immigrant Man Shot in a Shopping Complex
In this unbelievably cruel and tragic case, a young undocumented Mexican man went to his local convenience store to buy some bottled water. The convenience store was located in a strip shopping center in the Rosemont area of Orlando. When the young man was leaving the premises and literally a few feet from the edge of the parking lot, he was attacked by several gang members, who shot him repeatedly and rendered him quadriplegic.
The case was complicated because the convenience store leased their store from the shopping center owners. The shopping center owners argued that none of the stores where the young man was shot were open at the time of the shooting. The convenience store argued that that our client was off of its premises at the time he shot. Nonetheless, we were able to recover almost $2 million dollars for this young man.
